The Bible is a symbolic text. You shouldn’t read it literally. I’m not an expert, but if you want to talk about it, I’m open.
I don’t tend to take anything I read literally, I’m really quite closed minded in accepting anything until I’ve seen or at least sensed proof of it myself. Religion was basically forced on me by my grandmother, and I’ve always thought that if you’re going to believe something it shouldn’t be forced. Because that usually leads people to rebelling against it. My mother is a wiccan/spiritualist though, so she never forced any beliefs on me, she just wanted me to be open minded to accepting that there’s more out there… Which in a way I kind of go with.
But I don’t think someone should judge anything until they know enough about it to at least back up their points of view. So I did try to read the bible, along with the obedience of a christian man by William tynedale. Because Christianity has so many sides, I’d probably be burnt at the stake for this, but if you love God, why not just worship him in your own way and be decent to others? There’s rules like these in Satanism, but everyone just hears that and assumes there’s animal sacrifices and gruesome rituals. But it’s basically, make yourself happy, don’t be a dick…
I’ve studied Vampire culture and mythology since I was 13, some people may see it as a joke but the fact is, it’s like a religion to those who practice it. There’s stereotypes about everyone regarding what they believe, I don’t think the vampire culture should be made a joke of, especially if people aren’t willing to listen first. And I get that myself, I’m pale and I always wear black, but you should see the looks I get when I say I listen to Kelly Clarkson and Korn, it’s even come down to music, everyone should be able to dress how they want, listen to what they want, like who they like and believe whatever suits them. Everyone wants to judge others but that says more about themselves than who they’re saying it to.
